Marg's Quilt and Sue's Blocks

A few weeks ago this quilt was shown in it's early stages and look at it now.
Marg brought it in to "Show & Tell"...... all FINISHED!
Every part of the panel has been beautifully handstitched around the designs.

Very effective Marg and a job well done.

We also showed Sue's blocks in progress and she has now joined many of them together and they are looking good.
This one, below, will go towards another strip of Sue's quillow.
Still more to come as Noah's Ark is almost ready for the Flood! Keep popping in.

Batik Quilt by Josie

Josie started this Batik quilt some time ago during her early days of quilting and at times had difficulties getting her piecing correct but she persevered and, with a little help and advice from some of our more experienced members, she achieved this wonderful result.
Her skills are going from strength to strength and who wouldn't be proud of this super result?

She decided to tie the quilt and it really is the perfect finish to compliment the Batik fabric.

Works in Project by the Quilters

Josie sandwiched and pinned her latest make so no doubt it will be finished quite soon. It depicts a traditional Asian story about a boy and an elephant in a contemporary design. I'm going to spill the beans and tell all about that cute little mouse watching the elephant. He appeared by necessity and good management to hide a little iron stain! A great idea.
Sue is working on this super block in such lovely fabrics and colours.
Brenda is well on the way with a striking quilt for her grandson.
Great detail Brenda and I'm sure he'll love his surprise.
Next meeting tomorrow so I'm sure there will be lots more to show and tell for this month.

Noah' Ark & Quillows

At our group's last meet on Wednesday our "Show and Tell" produced, as usual, quite a few treasures of our member's labours. Labours of love, I must add!

Marg has now made three strips towards her quillow and it look as if it will have a nautical theme with all those ships and now a row of fabulous fish.
Sue has gone for hand made with her first completed  row of pretty hexagon flowers, in shades of blue.
Lorna is making great headway with her Noah's Ark Quillow and has made the great man himself....
She plans to add features to this row of characters and to make one the boss guy with buttons and badges.
The menagerie is growing with this dapper dog......
and a pink spotty pig.
More to come over the next day or two so keep popping in on Quilt Cornerstone.
